Nocaima Panela at the Americas Food & Beverage Show in Miami

Our participation in Miami allowed us to share the work of Nocaima's panela-producing families and their agricultural processing methods.

For the Association of Farmers of Nocaima – ASOGROCAIMA, participating in the Americas Food & Beverage Show in Miami, United States, meant much more than attending a trade fair. It was an opportunity to bring the work, traditions, and efforts of our panela producers from Nocaima, Cundinamarca to an international stage.

Thanks to the support of the Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, we had the opportunity to present our products, establish new business contacts, and show that Colombia's rural communities can develop added-value products with the potential to compete in international markets.

Panela Processing and Knowledge of Our Region

During the fair, we presented Panela Plus Limón as part of our association's panela processing work.

Panela Plus represents one of the goals we have been pursuing as an association: going beyond selling a raw material to develop processing methods that generate greater value around panela and create new opportunities for our producers.

During the fair, we were able to present the product and offer samples to business owners, buyers, distributors, and representatives from different parts of the food and beverage industry.

Every conversation allowed us to tell a story that begins long before arriving in Miami: in the sugarcane fields, at the panela mills, and in the hands of the farming families who make Nocaima's panela production possible.

From Nocaima to an International Showcase

Seeing our products displayed on an international stage under the name of Colombia was a particularly meaningful moment for our organization.

Our participation allowed us to share the work, knowledge, and traditions of Nocaima's panela-producing families.

For this reason, we consider our participation in Miami a milestone for both ASOGROCAIMA and Nocaima.

It is another step in a process that seeks to demonstrate how panela can evolve, be transformed, and find new opportunities in categories such as beverages, foods, industrial ingredients, and products for international consumers.

Opening New Doors for Colombian Panela

The Americas Food & Beverage Show also allowed us to connect with potential buyers, distributors, importers, and companies interested in both Panela Plus Limón and Colombian panela as an ingredient for developing other products.

These conversations mark the beginning of new opportunities.

Our aim is for these initial contacts to develop into sustainable business relationships that allow the panela produced by our communities to reach ever further.

Adding Value to Strengthen Producers

For ASOGROCAIMA, reaching international markets is more than a commercial goal.

Each new market also represents the possibility of creating better opportunities for those behind our production: farmers and panela-producing families.

Adding value to panela means seeking new formats, new consumers, and new ways to compete, while working to retain more of that value in the communities where the product originates.

Our challenge is to keep connecting traditional farming knowledge with innovation, processing, and access to new markets.

Thank You for Believing in Colombian Agriculture

We express our gratitude to the Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá for making this opportunity possible and helping organizations such as ASOGROCAIMA showcase their products at international trade events.

We also thank all the people, business owners, and organizations who discovered our work during the fair, tried our products, and showed interest in learning more about panela and the work we do in Nocaima.

We returned from Miami with new contacts, new possibilities, and, above all, the conviction that continuing to work to take our panela much further is worthwhile.

This is just one more step along the way.

From the mountains of Nocaima, we continue growing, processing, and innovating so that a deeply Colombian product can find its place on tables and in markets around the world.

From Nocaima to Colombia. From Colombia to the world.

Transforming our panela, building the future.
