Today, the Executive Council of the Panela Sector Roundtable met to define the 2025 Action Plan, with the aim of strengthening panela production and ensuring its future sustainability. As an association, we have committed to renewing young people's and teenagers' interest in panela making by implementing innovative strategies that connect with new generations.
Education and Youth: A Fundamental Pillar
One of the panela sector's main challenges is the lack of a new generation to carry on the work. To address this challenge, we have decided to establish agreements with educational institutions and national teacher training colleges to encourage learning and hands-on experience in panela production from a fresh perspective. We want young people to see panela as both a tradition and an opportunity for growth and entrepreneurship.
Technological Innovation: IoT and Augmented Reality
Recognizing the importance of technology in developing new job skills, we have proposed the incorporation of innovative methods into the teaching of panela production processes. Two key tools we will explore are:

🔹 Augmented Reality: As a teaching tool that will enable learners to visualize and experience the production process interactively.
